Background

UFC: Fight For The Troops is a 10-bout fight card that is set to take place on December 10th, 2008 at the Crown Colliseum in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

The card will air live on Spike TV at 6pm Pacific/ 9pm Eastern and viewers will be able to call in and donate money to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.

The card will be headlined by a welterweight bout between TUF 1 veteran, Josh Koscheck against Japanese fighter, Yoshiyuki Yoshida.

Steve Cantwell was originally meant to face former WEC light heavyweight champion, Brian Stann but Stann had to pull out due to injury.

Matt Wiman was originally meant to face Frankie Edgar until Edgar was replaced with Jim Miller due to injury.

Both Luigi Fioravanti and Brodie Farber failed to make weight and the bout was changed from a welterweight bout to a catchweight bout of 173 lbs.
