Background

UFC: Fight For The Troops is a 10-bout fight card that is set to take place on December 10th, 2008 at the Crown Colliseum in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

The card will air live on Spike TV at 6pm Pacific/ 9pm Eastern and viewers will be able to call in and donate money to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.

The card will be headlined by a welterweight bout between TUF 1 veteran, Josh Koscheck against Japanese fighter, Yoshiyuki Yoshida.

Pre-Event Notes

Steve Cantwell was originally meant to face former WEC light heavyweight champion, Brian Stann but Stann had to pull out due to injury.

Matt Wiman was originally meant to face Frankie Edgar until Edgar was replaced with Jim Miller due to injury.

Both Luigi Fioravanti and Brodie Farber failed to make weight and the bout was changed from a welterweight bout to a catchweight bout of 173 lbs.

Heavyweight Bout: Justin McCully defeats Eddie Sanchez via unanimous decision
Lightweight Bout: Dale Hartt defeats Corey Hill via TKO (injury). Hill broke his leg after Hartt checked one of his leg kicks.
Welterweight Bout: Ben Saunders defeats Brandon Wolff via TKO (knees) at 1.49 of round 1.
Welterweight Bout: Steve Bruno defeats Johnny Rees via submission (rear naked choke) at 3.44 of round 2.
Catchweight Bout: Luigi Fioravanti defeats Brodie Farber via unanimous decision.

Main Card

Lightweight Bout: Jim Miller defeats Matt Wiman via unanimous decision.
Middleweight Bout: Tim Credeur defeats Nate Loughran via TKO (Loughran quit on the stool at the end of round 2)
Light heavyweight Bout: Steve Cantwell defeats Razak Al-Hassan via technical submission (arm bar). Referee Mario Yamasaki stopped the bout after Cantwell extended Al-Hassan's arm to the point where it popped and most likely broke.
Welterweight Bout: Mike Swick defeats Jonathan Goulet via TKO (punches) at .33 of round 1.
Welterweight Bout: Josh Koscheck defeats Yoshiyuki Yoshida via KO (punch) at 2.15 of round 1.
