Goran Reljic (born March 20, 1984) is a Croatian professional mixed martial artist and purple belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under Roger Gracie.

He stands 6 ft. 3 in. (191 cm) tall and fights in the middleweight division (185 lbs.).

Reljic currently fights as a middleweight for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Early Career

Goran Reljic made his professional mixed martial arts debut on April 4, 2004 for the Croatia based Ultimate Fight Dubravc promotion. He submitted his opponent, Bojan Spalevic, with an armbar in the first round.

By the end of 2006, Reljic had improved to 5-0 with all of his wins coming via either stoppage or submission.

After opening 2007 with an armbar submission win over Tomek Smykowski, Reljic fought to a decision for the first time in his career as he came out on top unanimously against Waldemar Golinksi.

UFC

With the impressive undefeated start to his career, Reljic was signed by the premiere MMA organization, the UFC. He made his debut as a light heavyweight against rising Brazilian fighter, Wilson Gouveia at UFC 84. In an intense battle that saw both fighters not shy about throwing heavy strikes and engaging on the ground, it was Reljic that came out on top as he bounced back from trouble in the second round to drop Gouveia and pound him out. The earned Reljic and Gouveia "Fight of the Night" honors.

Following the bout, Reljic decided to drop to the middleweight division. He was paired up against Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, Thales Leites at UFC 90 but an injury forced Reljic out of the bout.
