Background

UFC Fight Night 7 (aka Ultimate Fight Night 7 and UFC Fight Night: Sanchez vs. Riggs) was an 9-bout fight card held on December 13, 2006 at the MCAS Miramar, near San Diego, California.

The card aired lived on SpikeTV and was headlined by a welterweight bout between TUF 1 middleweight winner, Diego Sanchez and should-have-been welterweight title challenger, Joe Riggs.

Sanchez dropped Riggs early with a punch and as Riggs was getting up, Sanchez landed a perfect knee that knocked Riggs cold to get the victory.
