Background
UFC Fight Night 6 (aka Ultimate Fight Night 6 and UFC Fight Night: Sanchez vs. Parisyan) was a 9-bout fight card held on August 17, 2006 at the Red Rock Resort Spa and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The card aired lived on SpikeTV and was headlined by a welterweight bout between TUF 1 middleweight winner, Diego Sanchez and would-have-been welterweight title challenger, Karo Parisyan.

In a back and forth battle that saw both fighters score key positions at times, Sanchez's cardio was the deciding factor as he came over the top in the third round to cinch the victory. This bout is considered by many to have been a Fight of the Year candidate.
