Pre-Event Notes

This will mark Carlos Condit's first UFC fight since being transferred from the WEC's now defunct welterweight division.

This is also the first fight since winning The Ultimate Fighter: Team Nogueira vs. Team Mir for Ryan Bader.

TUF 8 lightweight winner Efrain Escudero had to pull out of his lightweight match-up against Jeremy Stephens due to injury and was replacement by Brazilian, Gleison Tibau.

The fight between Ryan Jensen and Steve Steinbeiss was scrapped a day prior to the event as Jensen was removed due to the substance Aderall being in his system. No replacement was found for Steinbeiss, who received his show and win bonus for his troubles.

Jeremy Stephens weighed in at 158 lbs., two pounds over the allowed weight while Gleison Tibau weighed in half a pound over. Instead of forcing either fighter to make weight, the bout was changed to a catchweight bout of 158 lbs.
