Pre-Event Notes

Originally this card was rumored to have been headlined by a light heavyweight title bout between champ, Rashad Evans and former champ, Quinton Jackson. The bout was nixed however as Evans needed more time to recover from his December, 2008 title victory over Forrest Griffin.

A welterweight fight between rising stars, Ben Saunders and Dustin Hazelett was also rumored for the card but the bout was nixed after bout fighters became injured.
