Background
UFC 94: St. Pierre vs. Penn 2 is a 10-bout fight card that is set to take place on January 31, 2009 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada.
The card will air live on pay-per-view at 7pm PT and 10pm ET and will be headlined by a UFC welterweight championship bout between UFC welterweight champion, Georges St. Pierre and UFC lightweight champion, BJ Penn.

Pre-Event Notes
This is the first time in UFC history that a current champion has moved up in weight to face another current champion.
Jon Fitch will fight for the first time since a dispute with the UFC that almost cost him his spot with the organization.
The Lyoto Machida and Thiago Silva fight is a resecheduled bout that was originally meant to take place on UFC 89. The bout was rescheduled after Silva had to pull out of the bout with a back injury.
