Background

UFC 93: Franklin vs. Henderson is a 10-bout fight card that is set to take place on January 17, 2009 at the 02 Arena in Dublin, Ireland.

The card will air live on pay-per-view at 12pm PT and 3pm ET and will be headlined by a light heavyweight clash between former UFC middleweight champion, Rich Franklin and former PRIDE welterweight and middleweight champion, Dan Henderson.

A light heavyweight bout between UFC Hall of Famer, Mark Coleman and former PRIDE middleweight tournament champion, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua will serve as a co-main event.

This is the first UFC event ever to be held in Ireland.

Many believe that the winner of the clash between Rich Franklin and Dan Henderson will serve as the opposing coach to Michael Bisping on TUF 9.

This is Mark Coleman's first fight back in the UFC since Jan 8, 1999 split decision loss to Pedro Rizzo at UFC 18. This is also his first fight in the light heavyweight division and his first UFC bout since being inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.

Martin Kampmann will make his debut at 170 lbs. after getting demolished by Nate Marquardt at UFC 88.
