Background

UFC 90: Silva vs. Cote was a 10-bout fight card that took place on October 25th, 2008 at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, IL.

The card will aired live on pay-per-view at 7pm PT and 10pm ET and featured a middleweight championship bout between, UFC middleweight champion, Anderson Silva and TUF 4 veteran, Patrick Cote.

Hermes Franca was originally set up to face Gleison Tibau but Aurelio stepped in after Tibau pulled out with injury.

Spencer Fisher was originally slated to face Melvin Guillard but Guillard was pulled from the fight after violating probation on a 2007 drug charge.

Thales Leites was originally meant to fight on September's, UFC Fight Night 15 against Dean Lister. Lister pulled out due to injury and Reljic was listed as his replacement and the fight was pushed back to this card. It's Reljic's first fight at 185 lbs.. Reljic was then forced to pull out and was replaced by Drew McFedries.

Matt Horwich was originally slated to face Ricardo Almeida but Almeida pulled out due to injury and was replaced with Dan Miller.

Diego Sanchez had to pull out of his bout with Thiago Alves due to rib cartilage issues. Josh Koscheck stepped in on a few weeks notice to face Alves.
