Background
UFC 89: Bisping vs. Leben is an 11-bout fight card which took place on October 18th, 2008 at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham, England.

Pre-Event Notes
The Bisping vs. Leben bout was originally meant to take place at UFC 85 but the fight was postponed after Leben was left with insufficient time to train after parole violation from an earlier date landed him a 35 day jail term.
UFC 89 was originally scheduled to feature a light heavyweight bout between Lyoto Machida and Thiago Silva on the main card. The fight was postponed however after Silva suffered a back injury.
