Background
UFC 87: Seek and Destroy was a 10-bout fight card that was held on August 9, 2008 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minn.
The card aired live on pay-per-view at 7pm PT and 10pm ET and was headlined by a UFC welterweight championship match between champion, Georges St. Pierre and Jon Fitch.
A heavyweight bout between former professional wrestler, Brock Lesnar and former PRIDE title challenger, Heath Herring served as a co main event.

Pre-Event Notes
Brock Lesnar was originally slated to face former UFC heavyweight champion, Mark Coleman in the co-main event but an injury to Coleman's knee forced a replacement in the form of PRIDE veteran, Heath Herring.
TUF 6's Jared Rollins was originally meant to take on fellow TUF 6 contestant, Ben Saunders but had to pull out with an injury and was replaced with UFC newcomer, Ryan Thomas.
Andre Gusmao was first meant to take on Tomasz Drwal but Drwal became injured and once the UFC could not secure Razak Al-Hassan as a replacement, Gusmao was matched up against fellow UFC newcomer, Jon Jones.
