Background
UFC 107: Penn vs. Sanchez is an 11-bout fight card that is set to take place on December 12, 2009 at the FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee.

Thiago Alves was to face Paulo Thiago at this event but once Ricardo Almeida pulled out of his UFC 106 bout against Jon Fitch, Alves was instead matched up against Fitch in a rematch from their 2006.
