Background
The Ultimate Fighter 8 Finale is a 10-bout fight card that is set to take place on December 13th, 2008 at The Pearl in Nevada.
The card will air live on Spike TV at 9pm ET/PT and will decide the lightweight and light heavyweight tournament winners for The Ultimate Fighter: Team Nogueira vs. Team Mir.
The card will be headlined by a lightweight bout between TUF 8 tournament finalists, Phillipe Nover and Efrain Escudero.

This is the first TUF Finale since The Ultimate Fighter 4 Finale to be headlined by contestants from the show.
Wilson Gouveia failed to make weight for his middleweight clash and the bout was changed to a catchweight of 189 lbs.. In doing so, Gouveia had to give up 20% of his fight purse to MacDonald.
