Early Career

TJ Grant made his professional mixed martial arts debut at Extreme Cage Combat 1 on April 29, 2006, defeating Craig Skinner via armbar submission in the first round.

He picked up three more victories in 2006, winning his next two via armbar submission and the third via TKO over Eric Beaulieu in just 33 seconds.

Grant suffered his first professional loss in April when he was on the losing end of a decision to Gary Wright.

Grant rebounded from the loss with three successive submission victories to round out 2007 in the King of the Cage and TKO organizations.

To begin 2008, Grant lost his second professional bout when he was submitted with an armbar by Jesse Bongfeldt at TKO 32.

Two months later, Grant got back on track with an armbar submission win over Mike Gates. He followed that win up with a kimura submission victory over UFC veteran, Chad Reiner in June.

At TKO 35 in October, 2008, Grant submitted another UFC veteran in Forrest Petz via arm triangle choke at 3:55 of round 2. Just over a month later, Grant made it four wins in a row when he submitted Beau Baker with an armbar.

UFC

In early 2009 it was announced that Grant had signed a contract with the UFC. He will make his UFC debut at UFC 97 in Canada against Japanese fighter, Ryo Chonan.
