Stefan "Skyscraper" Struve (born February 18, 1988) is a Dutch professional mixed martial artist training out of Team Schrijber.

He stands 6 ft. 11 in. (211 cm) tall and fights in the heavyweight division at approximately 254 lbs..

Struve currently competes as a heavyweight for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Early Career

Stefan Struve made his professional mixed martial arts debut on March 19, 2005 for the Gentleman Fight Night promotion. He submitted his opponent, John de Wilde, with an armbar in the first round.

He suffered his first professional loss in his next bout as he went down by TKO in the first round to Romualds Kargulis.

Struve responded to the loss by picking up ten straight victories which included six wins by submission and four of those by triangle choke.

The win streak was broken in December of 2007 when he was submitted by Christian M'Pumbu in the first round.

Struve got back to his winning ways when he kicked off 2008 with a rear naked choke submission win over Ralf Wonnink.

In July, 2008 Struve submitted UFC veteran, Colin Robinson with a triangle choke in the first round.

Two more submission wins followed before Struve picked up the most impressive win of his career when he submitted Brazilian jiu jitsu black belt and UFC veteran, Mario Neto with a rear naked choke at a Cage Gladiators event.

UFC

His impressive submission skills coupled with his imposing frame earned Struve a contract with the UFC in early 2009. He faced rising heavyweight contender, Junior dos Santos on the undercard of UFC 95. Struve never got a chance to get into the bout as "Cigano" just unloaded on Struve finishing him off in just 54 seconds of round 1.

Struve will look to rebound from the loss at UFC 99 when he faces Denis Stojnic on the show's undercard.
