Ryan "The Lion" Madigan (born 1977) is an American professional mixed martial artist fighting out of Ohio.

He stands 6 ft. tall and fights in the welterweight division for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Early Career

Ryan Madigan made his professional mixed martial arts debut on June 10, 2006 in Cleveland, Ohio when he defeated Clint Zeedyk via TKO (corner stoppage) in the second round.

He followed that victory with two straight KO's over Chad Truckovich and Ricardo Martinez in October and December of 2006 respectively.

After taking 2007 off, Madigan returned in October of 2008 where he racked up his first submission victory as he scored a triangle choke victory over Bradon Pierce in the first round.

A little over two months later he notched up another triangle choke victory and his fifth professional victory overall against opponent, Rich Thompson.

UFC Career

With the undefeated start to his career, Madigan earned a call up to the UFC. His UFC debut was originally scheduled to be against TUF 6's Ben Saunders but after Saunders dropped out with injury he faced Tamdan McCrory at UFC 96.
