Early Career

Rolando Delgado made his professional mixed martial arts debut on December 15, 2002 at an Extreme Brawl event. He submitted his opponent, Neil McLeod, with a triangle choke in the first round.

In his next bout, Delgado suffered his first professional defeat as he was on the losing end of a unanimous decision to future UFC competitor, Joe Jordan.

Three months later, Delgado made it two losses in a row as he again lost a decision - this time to Jason Ireland.

Jorge Masvidal made it three defeats in a row as he stopped Delgado for the first time in his career.

Delgado snapped the losing streak with a split decision victory over Aaron Williams in July of 2005.

Rolando kicked off 2006 with a TKO victory over Jarrett Becks. He followed that up with a draw against David Love.

In March of 2007, Delgado was the last man standing in a one night, four man tournament put on by Rich Clementi's, No Love Entertainment. He submitted both of his opponents that night with armbars to cinch the tournament.

The Ultimate Fighter

In 2008, Delgado was picked up as a contestant for the eighth season of The Ultimate Fighter, The Ultimate Fighter: Team Nogueira vs. Team Mir. In the elimination round for the lightweight contestants, Delgado was defeated by George Roop. However, after an injury to another castmember Delgado was brought back onto the show.

In his quarter-final bout, Delgado faced Team Mir's Junie Browning. Delgado made it an extremely close fight but ended up losing via split decision.

At The Ultimate Fighter 8 Finale, Delgado was matched up against fellow quater-finalist, John Polakowski. Delgado impressively submitted Polakowski with a guillotine choke in the second round to keep himself in the UFC.

UFC

Delgado will kick off his post-TUF UFC career at UFC 99 in June of 2009 when he faces British fighter, Paul Kelly on the show's undercard.
