Rick "The Horror" Story (born x, 1985) is an American professional mixed martial artist training out of the Braveheart Fight Club.
He stands 5 ft. 10 in. (179 cm) tall and fights in the welterweight division (170 lbs.).
Story currently competes as a welterweight for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
Early Career
Rick Story made his professional mixed martial arts debut against Mario Miranda at a Conquest of the Cage event on November 6, 2007. He was defeated by Miranda via unanimous decision after three rounds.
Story picked up his first professional victory in his next bout nine days later as he scored a decision win of his own over opponent, Julio Paulino.
Story kicked off 2008 with wins in January and February to push his record to 3-1.
In May of 2008, Story defeated Strikeforce and WEC veteran, Ryan Healy via unanimous decision to take the Elite Warriors Championship welterweight title.
Just over a month later Story scored another impressive victory when he unanimously decisioned IFL veteran, Jake Ellenberger at a SportFight event.
Story rounded out 2008 with a KO over Wesley Welch and a rear naked choke submission win over TUF 5's Brandon Melendez.
UFC
In 2009 Story signed a four fight contract with the UFC and was called in as cover in case Karo Parisyan was unable to make it to the cage against Dong Hyun Kim at UFC 94. Parisyan was able to compete however and Story will instead make his debut at UFC 99 against undefeated British fighter, John Hathaway.
