Peter Sobotta (born January 11, 1987) is a German professional mixed martial artist training out of the Unlimited Combat System.

He stands 6 ft. (183 cm) tall and fights in the welterweight division (170 lbs.).

Sobotta currently competes as a welterweight for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Early Career

Peter Sobotta made his professional mixed martial arts debut for the Free Fight Championship promotion on October 24, 2004. He submitted his opponent, Christian Bruckner in 1:00 of round 1.

Sobotta rolled off three more first round victories in his next three bouts before suffering his first career defeat in October of 2006 as he submitted to punches in the second roun dof a bout against Nelson Siegert.

Sobotta rebounded from the loss by submitting Robin Dutry with an armbar in June of 2008.

Just under a month later Sobotta claimed victory in a one night, four man tournament held by a German promotion. He scored two first round victories over German opposition to clinch the title.

Sobotta rounded out 2008 with a third round TKO over Kerim Abzailov.

UFC

In 2009, Sobotta signed a contract with the UFC and will make his debut in Germany at UFC 99 against British banger, Paul Taylor.
