Pat "HD" Barry (born July 7, 1979) is an American professional mixed martial artist and highly decorated kickboxer.
He stands 5 ft. 11 in. (180 cm) tall and fights in the hesvyweight division at approximately 235 lbs..
Barry currently competes as a heavyweight for the Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC).
Early Career
Pat Barry made his professional mixed martial arts debut on May 30, 2008 after having been a high level kickboxer since 2002. With a 16-6-1 kickboxing record at the time, he made his MMA debut at a Combat USA event where he defeated opponent, Mike Delaney, via TKO (leg injury) in the first round.
After two more kickboxing bouts in Chuck Norris' WCL promotion, Barry focused on MMA and rolled off two more victories for the Combat USA promotion, knocking out John George with a high kick and then knocking out Simon Diouf with leg kicks in just 1:50 of round 1.
UFC
The highlight reel start to his MMA career got the attention of the UFC management and Barry was signed to a contract. He made his MMA debut at UFC 92 against Dan Evensen on the show's undercard. Barry punished Evensen with leg kicks en route to a TKO stoppage at 2:36 of round 1.
Barry will next return to the Octagon at UFC 98 in May of 2009 when he faces UFC newcomer, Tim Hague.
