Mike "The Juggernaut" Wessel (born December 2, 1977) is an American professional mixed martial artist training out of the Westside Fight Team.

He stands 6 ft. (183 cm) tall and fights in the heavyweight division at approximately 250 lbs..

Wessel is a UFC veteran and is currently a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights.

Early Career

Mike Wessel made his professional mixed martial arts debut on October 27, 2007 for the Art of War promotion. He defeated Matt Thomas via KO in just 2:42 of round 1 to successfully kick off his career.

Under three months later, Wessel faced Thomas in a rematch and dished out a similar result as he stopped him with punches once again in the first.

By the end of August, 2008, Wessel had fought four more times, scoring a victories in each bout to move to an unblemished, 6-0.

UFC Debut

In December, 2008, Wessel stepped in on short notice to replace Mark Burch in a bout against Antoni Hardonk on the undercard of UFC 92. Wessel fought hard, earning some takedowns and landing some effective ground and pound early on. As the fight progressed he began to tire however, and once Hardonk got on top it was game over as the Dutchman wailed away with strikes until the fight was called.

The Ultimate Fighter

Following his first professional and UFC loss, Wessel opted to take up one of 16 heavyweight spots on The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights.
