Marius Zaromskis (February 21, 1983) is a Lithuanian professional mixed martial artist fighting out of the London Shootfighters academy.
He stands 5 ft. 7 in. (170 cm) tall and fights in the welterweight division (170 lbs.).
Zaromskis is a veteran of the British, Cage Rage organization and currently competes as one of 8 fighters in the DREAM's 2009 Welterweight Grand Prix.
Early Career and Cage Rage
Marius Zaromskis made his professional mixed martial arts debut at UKMMAC 13 on November 27, 2005. He faced and defeated opponent, Jack Mason via TKO at the 3:18 mark of round 1.
After picking up a KO victory over Kazys Grigaliunas in February of 2006, Zaromskis entered the British based, Cage Rage organization. In his Cage Rage debut, Zaromskis stopped Afnan Saheed in the first round.
On August 20, 2006, Zaromskis suffered his first professional defeat when he was knocked out with a knee by future TUF 9 contestant, Che Mills.
Zaromskis returned to his winning ways three months later when he submitted Darius Swierkosz with a triangle choke in the second round.
In 2007, Zaromskis went three from three, scoring TKO stoppages in each of the bouts. His last of 2007 came against TUF 3 competitor, Ross Pointon. In a closer than expected bout, Pointon hung with Zaromskis on the feet for the majority of one and a half rounds of action, however Pointon was nastily cut open in the second round and the fight was called.
Zaromskis faced off against Che Mills in a rematch at Cage Rage 26 in May of 2008 in his next bout. He was no more lucky the second time around as he was unable to come out for the second round after sustaining a pounding from Mills in the first.
At a Bushido Lithuania event in November of 2008, Zaromskis rebounded from the loss as he stopped Jedrzej Kubski with punches to push his record to 8-2.
DREAM
It was announced in early 2009, that Zaromskis would compete as one of 8 welterweight competitors in DREAM's 2009 Welterweight Grand Prix. In the first round of the tournament, held on April 5 at DREAM 8, Zaromskis faced Japanese qualifier, Seichi Ikemoto. In an entertaining bout that saw Zaromskis at one stage attempt a backflip in order to pass Ikemoto's guard, he was awarded a unanimous decision after two rounds and a place in the semi finals.
