Profile

Kyle Bradley (born August 19, 1982) is an American professional mixed martial artist and Brazilian jiu jitsu blue belt under Tim Credeur.

He stands 5 ft. 9 in. (175 cm) tall and fights in the lightweight division (155 lbs.).

Bradley currently fights as a lightweight for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Early Career

Kyle Bradley made his professional mixed martial arts debut on July 11, 2003 for the Freestyle Fighting Championships. He faced future TUF 2 contestant, Melvin Guillard and was submitted with an armlock midway through round 1.

Bradley picked up his first professional victory four months later when he submitted Bone Sayavonga with an armbar in the first round.

After fighting to a No Contest with Danny Cooper a week later, Bradley picked up two more victories.

Bradley's momentum was halted in May of 2004 when he was stopped in a rematch with Melvin Guillard in the first round. That loss was followed by another defeat, this time to future WEC lightweight champion, Jamie Varner via second round rear naked choke.

Almost a year later, Bradley pushed his record above .500 when he stopped Ira Boyd in the first round.

Two more first round victories followed before Bradley was stopped by Bobby Voelker at a Titan Fighting Championships event in March of 2006.

Bradley bounced back from the fourth defeat of his career with seven successive victories in a variety of promotions.

UFC

In late 2007/early 2008 Bradley got a call-up to face Chris Lytle on short notice at UFC 81. Bradley accepted the bout at the higher weight class and was blitzed by Lytle in just 33 seconds by TKO.

Bradley hoped to bounce back at UFC Fight Night 15 when he faced Joe Lauzon on the show's undercard. The first round was fairly even as both fighters landed some good shots with Lauzon controlling the ground aspect. The second round saw Bradley land a good shot that resulted in Lauzon going up another gear and scoring a takedown which quickly resulted in a ground and pound stoppage in his favor.

In a do or die match, Bradley returned to UFC competition at UFC 98. He faced TUF 8 lightweight runner-up Phillipe Nover on the untelevised portion of the card. Bradley dropped Nover early and the fight was stopped by referee Yves Lavigne to boos of protest from the crowd.
