John "The Hitman" Hathaway (born x, 1988) is a British professional mixed martial artist training out of the ZT Fight School and London Shootfighter.

He stands 6 ft. 2 in. (188 cm) tall and fights in the welterweight division (170 lbs.).

Hathaway currently competes as a welterweight for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Early Career

John Hathaway made his professional mixed martial arts debut on June 25, 2006 at a ZT Fight Night event. He submitted his opponent, Jim Morris with a rear naked choke in the first round.

Hathaway finished off 2006 with two more victories via strikes.

To begin 2007, Hathaway entered the Cage Rage promotion via their "Contenders" series. He fought three times in 2007 for the Contenders and was victorious in each bout.

At Cage Rage 25 in March of 2008, Hathaway stopped Marvin Arnold Bleau with punches in 1:32 of round 1.

By the end of 2008, Hathaway had pushed his record to a flawless 9-0.

UFC

The impressive start to his career earned Hathaway a contract with the UFC. He made his UFC debut at UFC 93 against fellow UFC debutant, Tom Egan on the show's undercard. Hathaway outclassed his opponent, stopping him with elbow strikes 4:36 into round 1.

Hathwaway will return to action at UFC 99 when he faces another UFC debutant in Rick Story.
