Jake Rosholt (born September 2, 1982) is an American professional mixed martial artist and former 4x Division 1 All American Wrestler training out of Team TakeDown and Xtreme Couture.

He stands 6 ft. 1 in. (185 cm) tall and fights in the middleweight division (185 lbs.).

Rosholt is a WEC veteran and currently competes as a middleweight for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Early Career

Jake Rosholt made his professional mixed martial arts debut on July 21, 2007 for the Masters of the Cage promotion based out of Oklahoma. He was victorious via first round submission (guillotine choke) over his opponent, Dusty Miller.

Rosholt returned to the cage two months later and picked up a third round TKO victory.

Wins over Jeremiah Caves and Chad Jay followed before Rosholt signed with the ZUFFA owned and operated, World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC).

Rosholt made his WEC debut at WEC 36 in November of 2008 against undefeated prospect, Nissen Osterneck. Rosholt used his superior wrestling to continously take Osterneck down and punish him with strikes. However, when the fight was on its feet Rosholt looked lost against Osterneck's striking arsenal. Just as Osterneck looked to be gaining the upperhand, he fired a mistimed spinning back fist which, Rosholt countered with a double leg takedown and then abused a tired Osterneck until the referee stopped the bout.

UFC Career

When ZUFFA folded the WEC's welterweight and middleweight divisions into the UFC, Rosholt's contract was transferred over.

He made his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 17 against the last ever IFL middleweight champion, Dan Miller who was a late replacement for Italian boxer, Alessio Sakara. Rosholt went for an early takedown and was caught in a deep guillotine choke by Miller which forced the tap at 1:03 of round 1.

Rosholt will return to UFC action at UFC 102 when he faces TUF 1's Chris Leben.
