Pre-Event Notes
The Featherweight Grand Prix bout between Hideo Tokoro and Daiki Hata was originally to take place on DREAM 7 but the bout was pushed back to this card in order to give Hata time to recover from his qualifying win over Shoji Maruyama in February of 2009.
Seichi Ikemoto defeated Hidetaka Monma at DEEP 40 to earn a spot in the welterweight grand prix.
Yuya Shirai defeated Yoon Young Kim in a qualifying bout in the DEEP organization to also earn a spot in the welterweight grand prix.
Andrews Nakahara was originally slated to face fellow former DREAM Middleweight Grand Prix competitor, Zelg Galesic, but an injury to Galesic forced his replacement, in the form of fellow DREAM Middleweight Grand Prix entrant, Shungo Oyama.
Murilo Rua was first matched up against Dong Sik Yoon but an injury to Yoon two days prior to the bout forced Riki Fukuda to step in on short notice. Such was the short notice that Fukuda stated he was unable to make weight and the bout was changed to a catchweight of 89 kg.
