Early Career

Dennis Siver made his professional mixed martial arts debut for Germany based, Outsider Cup promotion on February 28, 2004. He defeated his opponent, Kordian Szukala via submission due to strikes at :17 of round 1.

Siver won his next four fights in a variety of Germany based promotions before suffering his first professional defeat at the hands of Fabricio Nascimento via 47 second kimura submission in October of 2005.

In March of 2006, Siver entered a one night 8 man tournament held by the England based, Cage Warriors Fighting Championships. Siver made it to the final after defeating Jonas Ericsson via TKO and Adrian Degorski via armbar submission. In the final, Siver went down via armbar submission to Arni Isaksson.

Two months later, Siver made it consecutive losses when he was submitted by Daniel Weichel via rear naked choke in the first round.

Siver bounced back from the two defeats successive defeats with three victories from three bouts to finish off 2006.

UFC Career

With a 10-3 professional record, Siver earned a contract with the UFC and made his debut for the promotion at UFC 70: Nations Collide. Siver faced a fellow UFC debutant in Jess Liaudin and was submitted with an armbar at just 1:21 of round 1.

Siver rebounded from his disappointing UFC debut at UFC 75 when he knocked out Japanese fighter, Naoyuki Kotani with a punch in the second round.

In January of 2008, Siver headed onto US soil to take on TUF 5 semi-finalist, Gray Maynard on the undercard of UFC Fight Night 12. Siver was outwrestled for the majority of the fight, losing via unanimous decision.

At UFC 86, Siver was matched up against TUF 2 welterweight contestant, Melvin Guillard on the show's undercard. Siver wilted under the ferocious attack from the fired up Guillard and was stopped on punches at :36 of round 1.

Siver's disappointing 1-3 UFC record meant he would have to return to a smaller promotion to get a win under his belt before returning. Siver did just that as he returned to Germany where he submitted American, Chas Jacquier with a guillotine choke in the first round.

The win earned Siver another chance in the UFC, which he took with both hands as he faced Nate Mohr on the undercard of UFC 93. In a tightly contested bout, Siver unleashed a spinning back kick in the third round that floored Mohr. Siver followed the kick up with punches to earn the fourth stoppage victory of his career.

Siver will next return to UFC competition at UFC 99, when the UFC heads to his home country of Germany for the first time in the promotion's history. Siver will face American, Dale Hartt on the show's undercard.
