He stands 5 ft. 10 in. (178 cm) tall and fights in the lightweight (155 lbs.) division.

Lauzon currenty competes as a lightweight for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Early Career and UFC Debut

Dan Lauzon made his professional mixed martial arts debut on April 1, 2006 for the World Fighting League. He submitted his opponent - Anthony Peters - with a toe hold at 2:20 of round 2.

Two submission wins followed in the Rage in the Cage promotion and then in August, Lauzon notched his fourth professional victory when he submitted Dyrell Walker with a triangle choke at a Combat Zone event.

With an unbeaten record and his older brother, Joe Lauzon's, shock upset win over Jens Pulver at UFC 63, Dan earned himself a call up to the UFC at UFC 64 to face Spencer Fisher. At just 18 years of age, Lauzon found himself as the youngest ever fighter to fight in the UFC. He started off well, controlling the early part of round one with some good takedowns. As the round wore on though, Fisher's experience began to show as things began to click for him with Lauzon quickly finding himself eating strikes en route to a first round TKO defeat.

2007 - 2009

After the loss to Fisher, Lauzon opted for a release from his UFC contract in order to gain some experience in smaller promotions. Things got off to a bad start as he suffered defeat in his very next bout when he was submitted with a rear naked choke by Deividas Taurosevicius at a Cage Fury Fighting Championships event.

Lauzon rebounded from the two losses to score three (T)KO victories to close out 2007.

2008 was another productive year for Lauzon has he fought three times and stretched his winning streak to six as he finished all his opponents to improve to 11-2.

Towards the end of 2008, Lauzon signed to fight with Affliction Entertainment. He was to make his debut at Affliction: Day of Reckoning against IFL veteeran, Chris Horodecki. The day before the event, Horodecki was ruled out with an injured back and on last minute notice, unheralded Bobby Green was brought in as a replacement. Green landed three low blows in the first and only round but Lauzon fought through and eventually submitted the wily Green with a rear naked choke.

Return to the UFC

Lauzon was again matched up against Horodecki for Affliction's third event, Affliction: Trilogy. A week out from the event, a positive steroid test for event headliner, Josh Barnett resulted in the event being cancelled. Affliction Entertainment decided to shut up shop as an event promoter and return to the UFC as a fighter sponsor. In doing so, Lauzon - along with a number of other Affliction signed fighters - was brought into the UFC.

He will face fellow former Affliction signee, Rafaello Oliveira at UFC 103.
