Daiki "DJ.taiki" Hata (born August 24, 1982) is a Japanese professional mixed martial artist training out of K.I.B.A.

He stands 5 ft. 8 in. (178 cm) tall and fights in the featherweight division (139 lbs.).

Hata is a veteran of the Pancrase and DEEP organizations and is currently a participant in DREAM's 2009 Featherweight (139 lbs.) Grand Prix.

Early Career and Pancrase

Daiki Hata made his professional mixed martial arts debut at a GCM event on October 15, 2004. He fought to a draw after two rounds against Takumi Murata.

He dropped his next bout to Naoji Fujimoto via unanimous decision in his Pancrase debut. That loss was followed by a draw with Katsuhiro Hirata four months later.

Hata didn't pick up his first professional victory until July 10, 2005 when he scored a unanimous decision over Kentaro Imaizumi.

In a rematch with Takumi Murata three weeks later he suffered his second professional loss, again by unanimous decision.

Hata got some wins on the board when he picked up four victories in his next four fights. Included amongst those victories were respected Japanese fighters, Kenji Osawa and Yoshiro Maeda.

His four fight win streak was snapped on August 27, 2006 when he was on the losing end of a split decision in a rematch with future WEC bantamweight title challenger, Yoshiro Maeda.

Hata split his next four fights, winning two and then losing the next two. Included amongst those matches was a decision loss to the tough, Marlon Sandro in November of 2007.

DEEP

After submitting David Love in a Freestyle Combat Challenge event in May of 2008, Hata entered the DEEP organization. In his debut he fought to a draw with Jong Man Kim after three rounds.

At DEEP: 39th Impact, Hata defeated Naoya Uematsu via TKO in the first round.

On February 10, 2009, Hata was matched up against tough Japanese fighter, Shoji Maruyama in a match that would award the winner a spot in DREAM's 2009 Featherweight (139 lbs.) Grand Prix. Hata defeated Maruyama via decision after three rounds.

DREAM

As promised, Hata earned a place as one of the 15 competitor's in the DREAM tournament. An injury in the Maruyama bout meant that Hata would not be able to face first round opponent, Hideo Tokoro at DREAM 7. Instead, Hata will face Tokoro at DREAM 8, on April 5th, 2009.
