Background
Dream 7: Featherweight Grand Prix 2009 1st Round is a 9-bout fight card that is set to take place on March 8, 2009 at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
The card will be broadcast on HD Net at 9pm ET on March 14th and will feature the opening round of Dream's Featherweight (139 lbs.) Grand Prix.

Pre-Event Notes
HDNet will broadcast Dream 7 six days after it initially airs in Japan because they felt that US fans would not want to be up to the early hours of the morning on a Sunday with work the next day.
Dream 7 will only feature 12 of what was meant to originally be a 16 man featherweight tournament. The reason for this being firstly, Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto was given a bye into the second round due to his stature in Japan and that an injury prevented his appearance in this event. Secondly, Daiki Hata (aka DJ.taiki) was injured in his qualification bout against Shoji Maruyama and therefore his first round bout against Hideo Tokoro was pushed back to Dream 8.
