Corey Hill (born October 3, 1978) is an American professional mixed martial artist and former castmember of The Ultimate Fighter 5.

He stands 6 ft. 4 in. (193 cm) tall and fights in the lightweight (155 lbs.) division.

Hill currently fights as a lightweight for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Debut

Corey Hill made his professional mixed martial arts debut on November 18, 2006 for the Kickdown Classic promotion. Hill was victorious via TKO in just 34 seconds over his opponent, Stryder Fann.

The Ultimate Fighter

In 2007, Hill was selected as one of 16 lightweight contestants for The Ultimate Fighter 5. Heading into the show, Hill falsely stated his professional record was at 4-0 in order to give him a better shot at getting on.

He defeated Rob Emerson in the opening round via contentious unanimous decision to earn himself a spot in the quarter finals.

Hill met Nate Diaz in the quarters and looked good early before falling into the trap of engaging in Diaz's guard and was quickly submitted with a triangle choke.

UFC

After having to pull out of his bout on The Ultimate Fighter 5 Finale against Allen Berube due to injuey, Hill made his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 12 in January, 2008. He faced standout wrestler, Joe Veres and used his long frame and excellent takedown defense to keep him at bay while smashing him with strikes. After a damaging first round, Hill closed things out 37 seconds into the second with punches.

In July, Hill met Justin Buchholz at UFC 86 and looked good for the first round and a half as he peppered Buchholz with strikes and scored some effective takedowns. He got sloppy on the ground in the second round however and Buchholz took full advantage as he secured Hill's back and submitted him with a rear naked choke.

At UFC: Fight for the Troops, Hill looked to rebound from the first loss of his career when he faced Dale Hartt. After taking the first round, Hill threw a leg kick in the second round that Hartt checked with his shin. This was too much for Hill's shin however as it fractured and gave out underneath Hill's weight when he put his weight on it. The sickening sight has the fight stopped soon after and Hartt awarded the TKO victory.
