Profile

CB "The Doberman" Dollaway (born August 10, 1983) is an American professional mixed martial artist and a former All American wrestler.

He stands 6 ft. 2 in. tall and fights in the middleweight division while fighting out of Arizona Combat Sports.

He was the runner-up on the The Ultimate Fighter: Team Rampage vs. Team Forrest and currently fights as a middleweight for the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Early MMA Career

CB Dollaway made his professional mixed martial arts debut against Chuck Pablo at a Cage Fighting Federation event on November 10, 2006. He impressively disposed of Pablo with a slam takedown in the first round.

Dollaway returned for his second professional fight a little over four months later at a WFC event. He continued to look impressive with a TKO victory over Levi LaLonde at 2.40 of round 1.

After two more victories, Dollaway got a decent amount of exposure on Mark Cuban's first foray into promoting a mixed martial arts event with HDNet Fights 1. He turned some heads as he took out Hans Marrero with knees and punches 1.07 into round 1.

Dollaway improved to 6-0 just two weeks later when he defeated Bill Smallwood via rear naked choke in the first round.

The Ultimate Fighter

In late 2007/early 2008, Dollaway was selected as a contestant for the 7th season of The Ultimate Fighter, The Ultimate Fighter: Team Rampage vs. Team Forrest.

Dollaway was considered the favorite to win the show in the early stages and with a TKO victory over David Baggett and a guillotine choke victory over Nick Klein in the opening two rounds he did nothing to eradicate that tag.

At the semi-final stage however, Dollaway ran into a roadblock in the form of the unheralded, Amir Sadollah. CB got the better of the opening two rounds but in the third and final round, Sadollah latched onto an armbar forcing Dollaway to tap.

Preparing to fight at the finale, Dollaway got a surprise call up from the UFC to return to the set of The Ultimate Fighter. Finalist Jesse Taylor's drunken rampage and subsequent elimination from the show gave Dollaway another oppurtunity to fight his way into the final. Dollaway faced and defeated Tim Credeur via unanimous decision to earn himself a rematch with Sadollah and a shot at TUF 7's middleweight crown.

At The Ultimate Fighter 7 Finale, many expected Dollaway to atone for his first loss against Sadollah but instead he fell to the same fate as their first bout. Shortly into the first round, Sadollah latched onto another armbar. Dollaway tapped once and the fight was stoppped. CB immediately disputed the stoppage but the replay showed that he had indeed tapped.

UFC Career

For his first UFC bout since the TUF 7 Finale, Dollaway was called up on short notice for July 19th's UFC Fight Night 14 (or UFC: Silva vs. Irvin). The card was assembled on short notice in order to counter program Affliction's inaugural event, Affliction: Banned.

Dollaway was matched up against the man who he replaced in the finale of The Ultimate Fighter, Jesse Taylor. The bout was fairly evenly contested early, until Dollaway took advantage of a turtled up Taylor by transitioning to a Peruvian necktie, the first ever utilized in UFC history, to force the tap 3.58 into round 1. The submission win also earned CB "Submission of the Night" honors.

Dollaway returned on UFC 92's main card against IFL veteran, Mike Massenzio, who he had faced once before in a wrestling bout earlier in their separate careers. Dollaway defeated Massenzio by TKO at 3:01 of the first round.
