Anthony "Showtime" Pettis (born x, 1987) is an American professional mixed martial artist training out of Roufusport.
He stands 5 ft. 10 in. (178 cm) tall and fights in the lightweight division (155 lbs.).
Pettis currently fights as a lightweight for the World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) organization.
Early Career
Anthony Pettis made his professional mixed martial arts debut for the Gladiator Fight Series promotion on December 1, 2007. He forced Michael Skinner to submit to strikes 36 seconds into the bout to claim victory.
After knocking off George Barrazza in his next bout, Pettis suffered a dislocated shoulder while fighting Mike Lambrecht in March, 2008. Pettis fought through the pain to end Lambrecht's night with a head kick in 1:49 of round 1.
Pettis went on to fight three more times in 2008, winning all three bouts in a variety of styles.
WEC
Pettis signed on to fight with the WEC in 2009 and made his debut at WEC 41. He met Mike Campbell on the show's undercard and quickly submitted him with a triangle choke to extend his winning streak to seven.
He will return to competition at WEC 44 in November when he faces former WEC lightweight champion, Rob McCullough.
