Early Career

Andre Winner made his professional mixed martial arts debut on July 15, 2006 for the British based, FX3 promotion. He forced his opponent, Denas Banevicius to submit to strikes giving him the victory in the first round.

On July 12, 2008, Winner fought to a draw with tough British fighter, Abdul Mohamed after three rounds.

The Ultimate Fighter

In late 2008, Winner was selected as a lightweight contestant for the ninth season of The Ultimate Fighter, The Ultimate Fighter: United States vs. United Kingdom. He earned a spot on Team UK when he knocked out Gary Kelly (brother of UFC fighter, Paul Kelly) in the round of 16.

On Episode 5, Winner was matched up against Cage Potato blogger, Santino DeFranco who he defeated via TKO in the first round. DeFranco pulled guard midway through the round and after a couple of failed submission attempts was pounded out by Winner.
