Andre "Dida" Amade (born x, 1983) is a Brazilian professional mixed martial artist and a veteran of the now defunct HERO's promotion.

He stands 6 ft. (183 cm) tall and fights in the lightweight (154 lbs.) division.

Amade currently competes as a lightweight for DREAM.

Early Career

Andre Amade made his professional mixed martial arts debut on March 9, 2004 for the Brazil based, Desafio promotion. He was defeated in his debut by Patricio Freire via first round TKO stoppage.

Just under five months later, "Dida" picked up his first professional victory when he scored a unanimous decision win over Leandro Sousa.

After his first knockout victory in his next bout, Amade fought to a draw with Claudio Mattos before closing out 2006 with a TKO victory over Felipe Borges.

HERO's

With his exciting Muay Thai style, Amade was picked up by the Japan based, K-1: Hero's promotion. He made his debut for Hero's at Hero's 8 in March of 2007 against "Evil Fist" Hiroyuki Takaya. Takaya succumbed to a broken nose at 3:29 of round 1 to give Amade the TKO victory.

The win over Takaya earned Amade a spot in the Hero's 2007 Middleweight (160 lbs.) tournament. He faced Artur Oumakhanov in the opening round and quickly earned his spot in the semi-finals as he dispatched of the Russian in just 1:20 with punches.

Two months later in the semis, Amade met Japanese legend and former two-time UFC lightweight title challenger, Caol Uno. Amade pullled off the upset victory as he outpointed Uno over three rounds to earn a final birth later that night.

He faced American Top Team's Gesias Cavalcante in the final and was submitted by the BJJ black belt with an armbar in 4:48 of round 1.

DREAM

Following the replacement of Hero's by Fighting and Entertainment Group's newest offering, DREAM, Amade was brought over. He was selected as one of 15 competitors in DREAM's 2008 Lightweight (155 lbs.) Grand Prix. He faced Eddie Alvarez in the opening round at DREAM 1 and although he managed to drop the American was ultimately overwhelmed and stopped with punches from mount at 6:47 of round 1.

Amade will return to action at DREAM 10 in July, 2009 where he will face off against DEEP lightweight champion, Katsunori Kikuno.
